ABOUT JOSUE

Professional observer.
Compulsive creator.

I pay attention to the details that make an experience feel ordinary—or unforgettable.

Josue Correa traveling on the water

I'm Josue Correa, a multidisciplinary designer, creative, entrepreneur, artist, traveler, and professional observer of things most people probably don't spend nearly enough time thinking about.

Typography? I notice it. Packaging? Absolutely. Hotel signage? Definitely. The menu at the coffee shop? I'm probably analyzing it before I've even ordered. And yes, I've been known to walk into a hotel room and start mentally redesigning things before my suitcase hits the floor.

I've spent more than a decade exploring creativity through graphic design, branding, marketing, illustration, digital media, print, hospitality design, and hands-on art. My work has taken many forms—from developing visual identities and marketing campaigns to building my own boxing media brand, imagining an athletic apparel company, creating physical artwork, and developing a Puerto Rican café concept inspired by the culture and community I grew up loving.

I was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico, and that connection to culture, storytelling, people, and place continues to influence how I think creatively.

I believe good design should look great, of course—but the work I'm most interested in goes further. It should make someone feel something. It should communicate an idea, create a memory, solve a problem, or make an experience just a little better.

Spending so much time around travelers taught me to pay attention to how people interact with brands in the real world—especially when they're tired, confused, excited, running late, carrying three bags, or desperately searching for coffee. Great design has to work for actual humans.

Travel has made that curiosity worse—in the best possible way. When I visit a new hotel, restaurant, café, airport, or city, I'm constantly studying the details: the branding, hospitality, service, menus, amenities, signage, environment, and those tiny moments that determine whether an experience feels ordinary or unforgettable.

That curiosity is probably the thread connecting everything you'll see in this portfolio. I don't believe creativity has to live in a box. One day, I may be developing a brand identity. Another day, I'm thinking about a hospitality experience, researching boxing content, drawing, working with clay, designing apparel, or wondering why someone chose that particular font for a sign.

I create because I'm curious.
I design because I care about people.
And I build because sometimes I look at an idea and think: “That would be really cool… I wonder if I could make it.”

Usually, that's where the trouble starts.
